Essential Rules for Safe Sleep (AAP)
- Swaddling does not prevent SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
- Always place your baby on their back to sleep, on a firm, flat surface, in their own sleep space (crib), without loose items (blankets, pillows, bumpers, stuffed animals).
- Stop swaddling at the first signs of rolling — this may happen as early as 2 months.
- Avoid heavy items nearby (heavy blankets or heavy sleep sacks).
- Prevent overheating; keep the head and face uncovered and dress your baby according to the room temperature.
- Never place your baby on their side or stomach while swaddled.

How to Use the CuddlePod (Step by Step)
- Prepare the sleep space: Crib with a firm, flat mattress and fitted sheet; remove all loose objects.
- Dress your baby in light clothing: One layer appropriate for the room temperature. Keep the head and face uncovered.
- Secure the torso and arms: Place your baby in the CuddlePod and fasten it snugly across the chest/shoulders to contain the arms. You should be able to slide two fingers between the chest and the fabric.
- Keep the hips free (“hip-healthy”): Do not tighten the lower area; make sure the legs can bend and move easily in a natural “frog” position.
- Always back to sleep: Do not use on inclined surfaces, car seats, swings, or strollers — the CuddlePod is for sleeping only on a flat surface.
- Watch for rolling signs: If you notice your baby turning to the side or lifting a shoulder/hip in an attempt to roll, stop using immediately.

- Straightening or restricting the legs or tightening the hip area.
- Loose items in the crib (blankets, stuffed animals, pillows).
- Overheating (sweating, very red face, rapid breathing).
